Field Inspection Services

In-Place Density Testing: Soil laboratory testing is performed prior to field density testing to understand material properties and to ensure compliance with project specifications. Once soil material compliance is obtained, in-place density and moisture content can be verified using a nuclear density gauge. Our technicians and project managers work closely with the project team to resolve any issues with material compliance, obtaining field compaction and/or moisture.

Pug Mill Calibrations: PACS can verify the accuracy of the onsite pug-mill systems used to produce cement stabilized sand and cement treated base material.

Riprap Material Sampling, Inspection and Testing: The riprap material is extracted from the stockpile and all the individual pieces of the riprap sample are measured and tested for weight, dimension and volume. The test data is then checked for compliance with the project specifications.

Bull Rock (also known as Granular Fill) material is sampled from the on-site stockpile, placed adjacent to the stockpile and all individual pieces of the sample are measured for % passing through the appropriate sieves per project specifications.
